The Highlight of the weekend, the concert on Sunday, 1st June will feature Ceol Aneas' special guests Muireann Nic Amhlaiobh and Billy McGlynn from Ireland and Adrian Barker, Kate Burke and Beth McCraken from Australia. New Zealand tutors, Barrie McDonald, Duncan Davidson, Bob Bickerton and Brendyn Montgomery will also perform. Musicians will combine in various combinations to present a feast of Irish dance music and song.
Direct from Ireland Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh (Muireann McAuliffe), lead singer and flute player from powerhouse Irish band Danu and her partner Billy Mag Fhloinn (Billy McGlynn) who will accompany her on bouzouki. Muireann is in high demand touring internationally with both the band and as a solo performer.
Adrian Barker and Kate Burke from Australia's top Irish band, Trouble in the Kitchen, acclaimed as one of Australia's most exciting and innovative trad-folk acts.
For Nelson based folk it is best if they book through the Nelson School Of Music off the seating plan. People registering as attendees at the workshops have a ticket included in the price of the weekend and they can order extra tickets when they register.
