The quintessential irish music experience, a session is a group of musicians sitting together in a public place playing traditional Irish dance music. You're very welcome to come and listen and dance if the mood takes you. Asking for something by the Pogues or U2 will often go down as well as a cup of cold sick.

We anticipate that there could be as many traditional musicians in town and splitting up into smaller groups will be a good thing if these are going to work. There'll be players of different abilities around so it might be an idea to find the right session for you - think about session etiquette before you jump in!
