Sessions

Similar to festivals in Ireland, traditional Irish music sessions will be happening till late at The House of Ales, The Free House, Accents on the Park and other venues around town (scroll down to see map showing venues).  The quintessential Irish music experience, a session is comprised of a group of musicians gathered together and playing traditional Irish dance music.  While the session is not a public performance as such, the energy and atmosphere ('craic') created by the musicians is fantastic entertainment.  You're very welcome to come and listen and dance if the mood takes you, though asking for something by the Pogues or U2 will often go down like a wet blanket.

Sessions

There will be many traditional musicians in town and splitting up into smaller groups will be a good thing for the best session experience for everyone. There will be players of different abilities around so it is worthwhile wandering around to find the session that is best for you -  and think about session etiquette before you jump in!

More information about sessions, when and where will be available during the weekend.
